The nGenius Virtual Agent
Enabling Visibility into Virtual Environments and Private Clouds for the nGenius Service Assurance Solution.

Optimised for the virtual environment, the award winning nGenius Virtual Agent is a plug-and-play virtual appliance containing an operating system and virtualised nGenius Agent software. Deployed within a dedicated virtual machine, the Virtual Agent is a virtualised implementation of the widely deployed nGenius Probe technology which is self-contained and consumes modest platform resources and requires little administrative actions.

Once deployed, the nGenius Virtual Agent software provides real-time visibility into the virtual computing environment by monitoring all application traversing the Hypervisor. This includes all interactions between virtualised applications contained in a single server, traffic in and out of the physical virtual server, and traffic associated with another virtual server platform. The nGenius Virtual Agent supports the native VMware® vSphere® standard switch and vSphere distributed switch (vDS) for extended environments. In addition, nGenius Virtual Agent supports the Cisco® 1000V series switch providing a high degree of seamless deployment flexibility. Server administrators can control access to traffic visibility through virtual LAN (vLAN) mapping to ensure data privacy and security. The nGenius Agent software discovers all applications and their interdependencies within, and external to, the virtual server.
